Winfried Degenhardt

Winfried K. Degenhardt, died unexpectedly on August 6, 2007. He was a resident of Goshen for the past 32 years. He was born on January 10, 1936 in Dresden, Germany, the son of the late Karl Degenhardt and Doris Degenhardt. Winfried came to the United States in 1964 as Director of Styling at the newly opened Revlon Salon in New York City. For 35 years, from 1968 to 2003, he was the owner of Pierre & Fred Coiffures, a salon on the upper eastside of Manhattan. Up to his death he continued driving to New York City to take care of his longstanding clientele. Survivors include his mother, Doris Degenhardt and his beloved wife, Ursula. He is also survived by his son, Christian Degenhardt and wife Melissa of Dobbs Ferry, New York; his daughters, Caroline Correia and husband Keith of West Hartford, Connecticut, Jennifer Bennis and husband Jonathan of Bedford, New York; as well as six grandchildren, Nicolai, Kendall and Sebastian Degenhardt, Mathias, and Liam Correia, and Olivia Bennis; his brother Dr. Bernd Degenhardt; he was predeceased by his brother Ulrich Degenhardt. A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, August 17, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, Goshen, New York Followed by a gathering at the Trotting Horse Museum, Goshen, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Storm King Art Center, P.O.
