William Wieninger

William Alan Wieninger, age 75, of Middletown, entered into rest on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at home. William was born April 27, 1943 in Valley Stream, NY. He is the son of the late Frederick and the late Matilda (von Walsleben) Wieninger. He was married to Patricia Siemon for 51 years. William grew up on a farm in Hunter, NY. He studied animal husbandry at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. William was a self-employed dairy farmer in Goshen, NY. He also served as an Orange County Sheriff's deputy during the infamous Brink's trial in Goshen, NY. Later years, William was employed as the Head of Security and Head of Maintenance for Falkirk Hospital in Central Valley, NY. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. William loved farming, riding his John Deere tractors, watching the Mets, and spending time with his family. He always had a sunny disposition and will be missed dearly. William is survived by his wife, Patricia (Siemon) Wieninger, his son; William A. Wieninger, Jr. of Honolulu, HI, his daughters; Tina(Matt) Smith of Port Leyden, NY, Lauran(Dan) Bailey of Wurtsboro, NY, Cherylyn(Larry) Davis of Middletown, NY, and Denise Wieninger at home, brothers; Kenneth Wieninger of Ausable Forks, NY, Frederick(Dee) Wieninger of Sevirna Park, MD, sisters; Barbara Dolansky of Poughkeepsie, NY, Patricia Lawyer of Windham, NY, Wendy Larsen of Denver, CO, sister-in-law Sally Wieninger of Surprise, NY, beloved grandchildren; Matthew, Michael, Mark, and Mitchell Smith, Joseph and Ally Bailey, and Evan and William Davis, and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Frederick and Matilda (von Walslaben) Wieninger, and his brother, Ted Wieninger. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 14th from 3-6 PM at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY 10924. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 15th at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in the Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY immediately following the funeral service.
