William L. Walling, Jr., 70, of Goshen, entered into rest Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. William was born June 19, 1945 in Middletown, NY, the son of William L. and Margaret Mary (White) Walling. Bill served in and retired from the U.S. Navy, was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th degree; DAV #212; Past commander of Middletown Post 151, as his dad was 20 years earlier; the American Legion Goshen 377; Catholic War Veterans #1923; volunteered at Valley View Center. Bill had a strong faith and loved St. Michael; he was a Lecture at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church. He was a Giant fan, Yankee fan and a huge Navy football fan. Bill was loved by everyone. He is survived by the love of his life, Eileen at home; son, Derek Friedman and wife Jolenne and their son, Max; daughters, Tanja Walling and Seanna Beisner and husband Jared; and their children, Bryonna, Nathan, Amber, and Madison ; brother, Henry W. Walling and wife Joni-Beth of Natural Bridge, NY; great nephew Julian and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Kathleen Walling; niece, Diana Walling and great nephew Cody. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 10 from 4-7 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen, NY. Burial will follow in the Orange County Veteran's Cemetery, Goshen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
