William Mcgarry

William C. McGarry, 91, entered into rest on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at home in Goshen. William was born January 19, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Malackey and Margaret (Burke) McGarry. He served in the U.S. Navy, as a Naval Aviator, during World War II. He worked for the New York City Police Department and retired from the NYPD as Deputy Inspector. He is survived by his wife, Margaret McGarry at home; sons, William McGarry, Michael McGarry, Patrick McGarry and Daniel McGarry; daughter, Mary Xenakis; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 13 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM & 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 14 at 10:00 am at St. Columba R. C. Church, 27 High St, Chester, NY. Burial will follow in Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Goshen.
