Virgilio Pascual

Virgilio V. Pascual 06-28-1936 to 06-13-2017 Virgil Pascual (Commonly known as Virgil or Ver) of Goshen, New York, died peacefully surrounded by family. He is survived by wife, Dr. Elsa D. Pascual and their children, Lisa, Victor and Erin. He was born in Paombong Bulacan, Philippines as the oldest of eight. He joined the United States Navy and served 6 years Active Service during the Vietnam War, graduated Johns Hopkins University in Accounting, and moved to Goshen in 1979 to start a family while doing the accounting for his wife's new cardiology practice. Virgil dedicated his life here in the United States to humanitarian efforts. On the local level, he served on various roles of public service, including Town of Goshen Councilman 1992-1999, Town of Goshen Zoning Board of Appeals, Orange County Board of Ethics, Goshen Rotary Club (33 years), Goshen Senior Citizen Housing Authority, Vice-Chair of the Goshen Republican Committee, and served veterans through the Elks Club, VFW, American Legion, and Catholic War Veterans. Overseas, he raised money to build new wells in his hometown in the Philippines and created infrastructure to get better resources to the residents. He was a dedicated husband and father, as well as a dedicated grandfather to his fur-babies: Logan (passed in 2015), Guinness, and Judah. Visitation will be Friday, June 16 from 5 to 8 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen, NY. Burial will be private in Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Goshen Rotary Club, PO Box 563, Goshen, New York 10924.
