Veronica Dunlavey Palmyra, PA, formerly of New City , NY Veronica Dunlavey, 87, of Palmyra, PA, formerly of New City, NY, entered into rest on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at home in Palmyra. Veronica was born April 10, 1926 in New York , NY , the daughter of Edward and Catherine (Noonan) Skahill. She was the widow of Thomas E. Dunlavey. She is survived by her sons, Edward Dunlavey and wife Susan of Maybrook, NY, Thomas Dunlavey and wife Allis of New City, NY, Patrick Dunlavey and wife Naomi of Chester, NY, and Jerry Dunlavey and wife Jennifer of Goshen, NY; daughters, Veronica Doherty and husband George of Palmyra, PA and Kathleen Dunlavey of Weirsdale, FL; 19 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas E. Dunlavey and infant son, Michael P. Dunlavey. Veronica (Ronnie to those who knew and loved her) was perhaps the most kind and gentle soul one could ever meet. Those who truly knew her would refer to her as "nice Ronnie" as she always saw the good in people. Her life spanned across decades of tremendous change, yet the core of who she was never changed. After raising her children, Ronnie spent several years working for BOCES in West Nyack where she was loved and appreciated by her coworkers and students. She enjoyed walking, reading and most of all being with her family. Ronnie was a woman of faith and her faith guided her throughout her life and sustained her until her death. Visitation will be friday february 14 from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street , Goshen , NY . A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on saturday february 15 at St. Anthony's R.C. Church , Nanuet , NY . Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet , NY .
