Samuel Eli Fast

Samuel Eli Fast, Jr., 84, of Goshen, NY, passed away peacefully at home on August 10, 2021. A lifelong resident of Orange County, he was born in Middletown and grew up working in his family's fuel oil business, eventually taking over and running it until he sold it and retired in 2002. He served in the United States Army from 1960 until 1966. He was a member of the Middletown Lions Club for over 50 years and was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship award for exceptional service to his community. He loved traveling the world with friends and family, sports cars, jokes, and matching wits against the challengers on Jeopardy. Most of all, he loved his family. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Susan, daughters Samantha (Marc) and Amanda (Devin), and three granddaughters, Jessica, Jayden, and Harper. May his memory be a blessing. The family is requesting visitors to please wear a mask for the visitation in the funeral home. Samuel and Susan have young granddaughters that are too young to be vaccinated. Thank you for your understanding. Visitation will be Friday, August 13 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. The Funeral Service to Celebrate his life will be held 1:00 pm on Friday, August 13, 2021 at the Funeral Home, Inc. Burial will follow in the Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY .
