Salvatore A. Traina Walden, New York Salvatore A. Traina, 61, of Walden, NY died Thursday, May 20, 2010. Salvatore was born December 19, 1948 in Rockville Centre, NY, the son of John R. Traina, Sr. and Anne Ballato Butindaro. Salvatore was an Elementary School Teacher at Chester Union Free School, Chester, NY, the former Building Representative for the Chester Teacher's Association, and former Trustee of the Chester Teachers Association Benefit Fund. Salvatore was a very caring person who gave freely of himself to others. He was a dedicated teacher and he was loved by all of his students. He is survived by his wife, Jayne M. Calder Traina of Walden; his mother, Anne Butindaro of Baldwin, NY; brother, John R. Traina, Jr. and wife, Marisue, of New Paltz, NY; sisters, Leonora VanderDrift and husband, Jack, of Baldwin, NY, Joanne Traina of Middletown; brothers-in-law, John and his companion Phoebe, Tom and wife Sue, and Jim and wife, Heidi; sister-in-law, Sally Calder; and his dear friend; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and his beloved pets; Arty and Cali. He was predeceased by his father, John R. Traina, Sr. Visitation will be Sunday, May 23 from 2-5 PM & 7-9 PM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Monday, May 24 at St. Columba R. C. Church, 27 High St., Chester, NY. Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery, Chester.
