ROWLAND J. MC BRIDE CAMPBELL HALL, NY Rowland J. McBride, 91, of, Campbell Hall, died Thursday, March 19, 2009 at home in Campbell Hall, NY. Rowland was born September 24, 1917 in Campbell Hall, NY the son of John D and Katherine (VanDemark) McBride. Rowland retired as a plumber from Stewart Air Force Base in Newburgh, NY, and after retiring worked as a Janitor at Orange County Infirmary in Goshen. He served in the U.S. Army 13th Infantry Division from 1941 to 1946 during World War II and was decorated with the Bronze Star, was a member of the Otterkill Engine Co. #1 of Campbell Hall for almost 70 years; member of Middletown Elks Lodge #1097, DAV of Goshen and VFW Maybrook #2064. Survivors include his son, Terry McBride and wife Nancy of Campbell Hall; 3 daughters, Kathleen Slesinski of New Port Richey, Fl, Sharon Garrison and husband Gregg of Port St. Lucie, FL and Lynn Russell of Campbell Hall; 10 grandchildren- Katie, John, George and Karl McBride; Lynette Lutz and husband Rick, Stacey Warth and husband Gerhart, Charleen Slesinski; Frank and Elizabeth Garrison, and Patrick Russell; 2 great grandchildren, Matthew and Kirsten Warth 1 niece, Audrey Myers and one great nephew Fred Myers and wife Janet and one great niece Sue Myers Freshka. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 24 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with DAV Service, Tuesday at 7:15 pm and Fireman's Service 7:30 pm. Second day visitation, Wednesday, March 25, 2009 from 10- 12 pm and 2-4pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church St., Goshen. The Funeral Service will be at 3:00 pm in the Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
