Roberta Mabee

Roberta G. Mabee, age 80, of Middletown, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 at Sapphire Nursing and Rehab of Goshen, NY. Roberta was born December 4, 1937 in Middletown, NY. She is the daughter of the late Kenneth and Annette (Bischoff) Holden. She was married to Nicholas Mabee for 61 years. Roberta was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She graduated from Middletown High School in 1955. She loved to be around children, and after her own children were grown she worked at Orange Ulster Boces in Goshen, NY in the childcare program. She will be remembered for her love of camping, hiking, going to the beach, and spending time outdoors. Roberta will also be remembered for her cooking and baking, especially her pies on holidays. She is survived by her husband: Nicholas Mabee; her five children: Brian Mabee and wife, Ammy of Sunnyvale, CA and their sons Nicholas and Michael, Keith Mabee and wife, Anne of Sparrowbush, NY, Wendi Mabee and wife, Colleen of Tuscon, AZ, Matthew Mabee and wife, Lorraine of Westtown, NY and their sons Aaron, Evan and Kyle, and Brenda Kurth and husband, Fred of Greenville, NY and their sons Quentin and Ryan; and her sister and brother-in-law, Eleonore and William Scott. Calling hours will be Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Friday, September 7, 2018 at St. James Episcopal Church, 1 St. James Place, Goshen, NY with The Rev. M. Carl Lunden officiating. Inurnment will be immediately following the funeral service in St. James' Church, Goshen. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to St. James Church in memory of Roberta Mabee.
