Robert Staab

Robert J. Staab, Jr., 59, of Campbell Hall, NY, died Saturday, November 5, 2016 in the comfort of his own home with his two children and Sue Voglio by his side. Bob was born March 5, 1957 in Richmond Hill, Queens, NY, the son of the late Robert J. Staab, Sr. and Marilyn (Bosch) Staab. Bob was self-driven and hard working with the intent of always being his own boss while owning his own business. As a result, he had two successful construction companies, beginning in Jacksonville, FL, where he began his family, before moving to NY and starting Patriot Construction that he ran for many years. This was followed by his current and most recent business After the Barn LLC, which he ran and expanded with his son Robby by his side. Not only was Bob known for his go-getter, never give up work ethic, he was a man who loved the world and lived life to the fullest. He had that face everyone remembered and was and always will be loved by so many. He spent his summers out on his boat, Ramble On, in the Great South Bay and spent his winters in South Florida on the gulf coast fishing and visiting friends and family. Traveling was also a big part of his life as he made it a point to have his kids and granddaughters visit and explore any and everywhere they could. He was and always will be his granddaughters beloved "Papa." He is survived by his wife Kathleen Allen Staab; mother Marilyn Staab; son Robert J. Staab III; daughter Jessica Staab; brother, Dr. James A. Staab and partner Sadia; sister, Maureen Staab; granddaughters, Natalie and Lilly Staab; goddaughter & niece, Theresa Staab and the family's German Shepherd Gus. To all of his family and friends visiting, please come in casual clothes, just as Bob always wore. Visitation will be Sunday, November 13 from 2 to 5 pm, at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY with the funeral at 4:30 pm. Donations may be made in Robert's name to Prostate cancer research.
