Robert Irish

Robert "Bobby" Michael Irish, 55, of Matamoras, PA, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. The son of Rolland and Carol (Borrs) Irish, Robert was born January 5, 1962 in Nyack, NY. Bobby was a self-employed Master of Carpentry who loved his work by using his imagination to build and restore homes with his gifted hands. Bobby was a true , kind ,and generous down to earth gentleman who loved riding his Harley, being around family and having fun with his close friends. Bobby was indeed a man with a strong will, passion and a great sense of humor. He was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in April of 2012 and fought hard through surgeries and chemotherapy to stay with us. He was amazing!! During this trying time, he built a new, fuller life with his wife Gia and continued to create new dreams for their life together without ever giving up. He is survived by his wife Giannoula K. (Adamis) Irish at home and daughter Alexandria Lasaponara of Goshen ,NY his parents Rolland and Carol of Blauvelt, NY, sister Catherine Thonus and husband Richard of Wendell, NC.; niece Corrine Sletner and husband Nick and their children Caroline and Benjamin of Blauvelt, NY: Uncle Richard Borrs and wife Kathleen of Monroe, Conn. A very special Thank You to our friends and family, too numerous to name, who stood by us through a very long fight and to his "girls" at ORMC, a very special love and hugs ... he adored you all! Visitation will be Friday, January 27 from 2 to 4p.m & 7 to 9p.m. at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY, with the funeral service at 8:30 pm Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
