ROBERT J. DAVIS MARCH 8, 1917 - JANUARY 12, 2009 Robert J. Davis, 91, of Goshen, NY, died Monday, January 12, 2009 at Glen Arden, Goshen. Robert was born March 8, 1917 in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late John and the late Margaret E. (Hensler) Davis. He was widower of Margaret T. Burns Davis. Robert served in the U.S. Army as a Captain in the 96th Infantry during World War II, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Holy Name Society and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He retired after 25 years with the New York State Police serving in Troop K, Hawthorne and Troop T, Tarrytown, NY. Robert is survived by his 2 sons, Robert J. Davis, Jr. of New York, NY and William M. Davis and wife Lisa of Fishkill, NY; daughter, Margaret A. Davis of Middletown, NY; 5 grandchildren, John, Meghan, Chris, Will and Rebecca; 4 nieces and 3 nephews. The Davis' would like to thank their extended family at the Glen Arden Health Care Center for the compassionate and loving care they took of their dad. Visitation will be Thursday, January 15, 2009 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church St., Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 16, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave., Goshen. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Middle Village, Queens, NY Friday at 1:00 pm In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert's name and sent to Glen Arden Health Care Center, 214 Harriman Drive, Goshen, NY 10924.
