Robert Cummings

Robert J. Cummings, 93, of Middletown, New York, died Thursday, April 27, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born February 18, 1924 in Yonkers, NY, the son of the late Joseph Cummings and the late Louisa (Deitrich) Cummings. He served in the US Navy during WWII as a signalman on the U.S.S. Roxane receiving the bronze star. Retired from the Rockland County Supreme Court as a Court Reporter, Bob enjoyed golfing and devoting his time, energy and love to his adoring family. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Ann (nee Murphy) Cummings; their devoted children, Robert Cummings Jr. and wife Cecelia, Mary Ann McIntee and husband Robert, Phyllis Mentz and husband William, Kathy McDowell and husband James, Kimberly Plotkin and husband Alex and Richard Cummings and wife Celeste; and their 14 amazing grandchildren, Peter, William, Mary Kate, Katherine, Lindsey, Teresa, Stephen, Elizabeth, Jenna, Victoria, Eric, Morgan, Taylor and Emma; and 10 wonderful great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, May 1 from 3 to 7 P.M. at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen, NY. Burial will follow in the Orange County Veteran's Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY. Memorial donations may be made to the Hudson Valley Honor Flight, Attn: Donations, P.O.
