Phyllis Wimberly Paul, passed away on September 11, 2024 in Goshen, New York, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Cora and Andrew Wimberly in Macon, Georgia on August 24, 1938. She moved with her family and was raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and later attended Ohio University.
Phyllis was a longtime resident of Poughkeepsie, Fishkill, and Goshen, New York, where she built a life filled with family and friends. She was a loving wife of 64 years and a wonderful homemaker for her three children during their formative years. After her children left home, she began and retired from a successful career as a technician. After retirement she enjoyed working at her local hospital.
Phyllis had a deep love for gardening, was an avid tennis player, and cherished her beloved pets, who brought her much joy throughout her life. But her greatest joy was always loving her family through nurturing, encouraging, and always being there to support them. She also was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends.
Phyllis is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Lucien Paul, and their three children and spouses: Jerome (Mildred) Paul, Lisa (Brian) Davenport, and Patrick (Karri) Paul. Phyllis was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren, Quinton (Jesika) Paul, Joshua Paul, Kimberly Paul, Shane Paul, Cameron Paul, and Brittany Davenport. She also was the beloved great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren, Ciara Paul, Izabella Paul, Malachi Paul, and Justus Paul. Phyllis' family will always cherish her kindness and love.
Phyllis was predeceased by her parents.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 29th from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY.
A Mass of Christian burial to Celebrate her life will be held 10:00 A.M. on Monday. September 30, 2024 at St John The Evangelist RC Church, 71 Murray Avenue, Goshen, NY. Burial will follow in St John's Cemetery, Goshen.
