Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick Joseph Riordan, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Patrick, a kind, thoughtful and loving man, left this world peacefully on July 19, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on May 30, 1935, in Abbeyfeale, Limerick, Ireland, Patrick worked with his father, Daniel, as a head waiter in hotels in Ireland and England growing up. His dream was always to come to America where his mother, Elizabeth, was born. He was so very proud to be a true Irish American. In his twenties, Patrick immigrated to America, serving proudly in the U.S. Army. Afterwards, he went back to his passion in the catering field and served as a private butler and the executive dining room Head Manager for CBS Records. He ultimately decided to bring his vibrant spirit and unwavering work ethic to his own business in catering and linens called Finesse. His commitment to his craft and his customers was unmatched, and he cherished the relationships he fostered over the years.

He is preceded in death by his father, Daniel Patrick Riordan; mother, Elizabeth Doody and sister, Joan Fitzgerald (Moss).

He is survived by his wife Mary; sister Nora Mary (Dan Joe); son Daniel (Tracey); daughter Monique; stepdaughters Jackie (Robbie) and Geraldine (Stephen); stepson Tony (Tina); grandchildren Patrick, Paige, Eric, Nicholas, Brian, Katie, Anthony, Christopher, Peter and Connor; and many nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held Friday, 24th of July, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Donovan Funeral Home followed by a Mass at the Funeral Home at 1:00 pm.

Burial will follow at Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 02:00 PM in Goshen, New York.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society since Patrick, his two sisters and many others in his life were affected by cancer throughout the years.
