Mary Lee Berry

September 16, 1939 — May 25, 2014

Mary Lee Berry , of Goshen NY,entered into eternal rest, peacefully, on Sunday, May 25th, 2014. She was born Sept 16, 1939 in Montclair, NJ to Lee and Laurie Van Court. She was a loving wife to Edward for 53 years and a devoted mother to their three children and 12 grandchildren. Mary Lee graduated from Bouve College in 1961 with a degree in Physical Education. She taught in the Middletown school district for a year before moving to Goshen to start a family. She then lived in Goshen for over 50 years. She was very involved in her community by joining Jayncees, the First Presbyterian Church of Goshen, the Women's Association of the church, and as President of the Board of the Roxbury Run Homeowner's Assoc. and President of the Board of Inspire of Goshen. She also enjoyed working in the women's clothing industry at the Clothes Horse and Kassel's and branched out to another industry while working for Unishippers. Mary Lee always took time to enjoy herself with her hobbies...golf, tennis, skiing, biking, traveling, spending weekends in Roxbury, NY and baking her legendary Heath Bar cookies for all the grandkids. No matter what she was doing, she always did it with a smile. She is survived by her husband, Edward, three children and their spouses, Stephen and Jennifer (Central Valley, NY), Gayle and Mark Lerch (Allendale, NJ)and Ronald and Georgie (Redding, CT)and 12 grandchildren (Alexa, Gillian, Jack, Corey, Daniel, Stephanie, Cynthia, Andrew, Matthew, Charlie, Billy and Tommy). Memorial Visitation will be Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 5-8 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. Memorial Service will be Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Goshen, 33 Park Place, Goshen, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering and Inspire www.inspirecp.org Arrangements under the care of the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc. Goshen.
