Martin Smith

Martin V. Smith, 71, of Goshen, entered into rest with his family around him on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at home. Martin was born January 16, 1947 in New York, NY, the son of Charles J. Smith and Margaret (McCormack) Smith. He was a Master Steamfitter and fifty year member of Local 373 UA, Mountainville, NY. Most important to Marty was his family, he was involved in all aspects of his children's and grandchildren's events. He loved to travel with Mary all through the US and to Italy and Ireland. He was well known and admired in the Goshen community. He will be truly missed. Marty is survived by his wife: Mary F Smith at home; five children, Karen Cole, Susan Vizzari and husband Joseph, Martin F. Smith and wife Danielle, Michael Smith and Nicholas Smith; seven grandchildren, Shannon Cole, Zachary Cole, Brianna Vizzari, Marcello Vizzari, JamesMichael Vizzari, Ava Smith and Marc Anthony Smith; brother, Peter Smith and wife Patricia Smith; sisters, Kathleen Goerlitz and Margaret Smith; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and numerous friends from near and far. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 23 from 3 to 8 P.M. at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen, NY. Cremation will be private.
