Marion Lasusa

Marion LaSusa Goshen, New York A woman of unlimited spirit, Marion LaSusa, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh, NY. The daughter of John and Maria (D'Amico) Ribando, she was born October 17, 1915 in Sicily, Italy. She came to America during the large immigrant wave from Europe in 1920 where she became a citizen of the US. She was a dressmaker until the end of World War II, when she married the love of her life Carlo LaSusa in NYC in 1946. She and her husband shared an overwhelming love for each other for 41 years. She was one of 9 children who enjoyed family gatherings and parties throughout her life. She had many fond memories and stories to tell her family about growing up in NYC through the Roaring Twenties, Great Depression and World War II. Marion is survived by her son Joseph, his wife Laura, grandchildren Heather and Jason; her son John, his wife Corrine, grandchildren Michael, Christopher and Jennifer; her son Louis and grandson Karl; daughters-in-law Patrice and Linda LaSusa; son Eddie; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; her brother Sal and sister Josie. She was predeceased by her husband, Carlo, her siblings, Peter, Francis, Joseph, Rose, Tony and Katherine. Visitation will be Thursday, March 24 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM & 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, March 25 at 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen,, NY. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made in Marion's name to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550.
