MARGARET S. HEGNEY GOSHEN, NEW YORK Margaret S. Hegney, 91, of Goshen passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Orange Regional Medical Center-Arden Hill Campus, Goshen, NY. Margaret was born March 3, 1919 in New York, NY, the daughter of Rollin and Katharine (O'Connell) Schanck. She grew up in Chester, NY. Margaret was the widow of Edward J. Hegney. She retired from the Orange County Dept of Health in Goshen, NY as a Senior Account Clerk, was Secretary of the Goshen Girl Scout Council. Margaret enjoyed the gatherings and many years of friendship with the "Card Club." She was a member of the Goshen Seniors, the Dikeman Engine and Hose family, and a Parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Goshen. She is survived by her daughter, Susan and her husband Jean Claude Allioux of Goshen; brother, James Schanck of Brevard, NC; sister, Elizabeth S. Kreher of Chester; granddaughter, Chantal Torchia and husband Anthony of Old Bridge, NJ; and great granddaughter, Natalie Torchia. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Edward; sister, Mildred S. Patterson and brother, Garrett Schanck. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 31, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, September 1 at 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave., Goshen. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
