Luz Solano

Luz Solano Minisink, New York Formerly of Kearny, New Jersey Luz Solano, 79, of Minisink, NY entered into rest on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at home. Luz was born May 25, 1930 in Newark, NJ, the daughter of Florentino and Matilda (Fernandez) Velasco. She was the wife of Frank A. Solano. Luz had a unique grace. It had a powerful influence on her family, and every life she touched. She was a loving daughter and wife, a giving and supportive mother, a doting, proud grandmother a caring sister and aunt. Luz was generous to her friends. Luz was all of this in spite of her long personal battle with multiple sclerosis. Most remarkable in her life was the 59 year love story she shared with her husband Frank. In their time together the two shared their lives and met their struggles with a powerful mutual love. This bond was evident to all who met them. She will be missed. She is survived by her husband, Frank A. Solano at home; daughter, Debra Dye and husband James of Minisink; 2 grandchildren, Michael and Jillian Dye and many nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 6, 2009 at 11:00 am at Holy Cross R.C. Church, Minisink, NY with Father Bob officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, New Jersey. Memorial contributions may be made to the National MS Society, 733 3rd Avenue, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10017.
