Luis Baerga

Deacon Luis Guillermo Baerga Goshen, New York Deacon Luis Guillermo Baerga, 78, of Goshen entered in rest Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at home in Goshen. Luis was born January 2, 1933 in Puerto Rico, the son of Luis and Adolfina (Huber) Baerga. He was the husband of Elisa Cordero Baerga. Luis served in the Army during the Korean war. He studied pharmacy and graduated from Fordham University. During his career, Luis was a Pharmacist for 35 years at several pharmacies, he also worked at Horton and Arden Hill Hospitals and retired from Arden Hill Hospital. Luis studied to become a Deacon at Dunwoody Seminary in Yonkers, NY and served the community of Goshen at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church. Luis is survived by his wife: Elisa Baerga; daughter, Emily Baerga Horan and husband Edward and their children, Kelly, Vincent and Emilia of Carmel, NY; son, Louis A. Baerga and wife Andrea and their children, Luke, Sophia, Jakob and Benjamin of Brewster, MA; and his niece Yolanda Garcia. He was predeceased by his sister, Lucilla Bonilla. Visitation will be Monday, March 21 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM & 6:00 to 9:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 22 at St. John The Evangelist R.C. Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Goshen.
