Lucas Mevs O'Connor

Lucas "Luke" Christian Mevs O'Connor, 16, of Campbell Hall, died tragically on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Westchester County Medical Center, Valhalla, NY. Luke was born November 10, 1998 in Williamsville, NY, the son of Randall S. O'Connor and Charlotte (Mevs) O'Connor. Luke was an honor student at Goshen High School. He wanted to be a veterinarian. He volunteered at Noah's Park Animal Rescue and with Dr. Johnson, DMV. Luke was a gentle spirit. He loved his friends, he regarded them as his brothers. Luke was a member of the Boy Scouts and has been honored as an Eagle Scout. Luke is survived by parents, Char and Randy O'Connor of Campbell Hall; sisters, Alyssa O'Connor of Bloomfield, NJ and Paige O'Connor at home; paternal grandmother, Arlene Manzella of Williamsville, NY; aunts, Betsie Menchetti, Sharon Powers, Jane O'Connor, Kathy O'Connor and Lolo Copeland; uncles, Dennis O'Connor, Tommy O'Connor, Mark Powers, Danny Mevs, Robert Mevs and Andy Hilburger; his friends and his beloved dog Eddie. He was predeceased by his brother, Christian O'Connor; maternal grandmother, (Goowa) Jeanine Mevs; maternal grandfather, Dr. Fritz Mevs; paternal grandfathers, Papa Pete Manzella and William O'Connor; and his uncle Bernard Mevs. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 22 from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Grace Community Church, 2839 NY-94, Washingtonville, NY, with the funeral service at 6:00 PM. Cremation will be private.
