Karen Ann Consalvo Chereck

April 30, 1957 – September 1, 2023

Karen Ann Consalvo Chereck, an 11-year resident of the Town of Wallkill, NY (and long-time Orange County resident) passed away September 1, 2023, after a 20-year courageous battle with soft tissue sarcoma.

Born on April 30, 1957, in New York City, she is the daughter of the late Peter Joseph Consalvo and the late Gloria Rose Vitaliano Consalvo.

Karen received a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from the State University of New York College at Oneonta and a Master of Science in Education from the State University of New York at New Paltz. She was a member of the National Art Education Association (NAEA) and the New York State Art Teachers Association (NYSATA).

Karen was a New York State certified Art teacher and taught at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School in Middletown, NY for 23 years. Before the birth of her son, Karen worked as a graphic artist for six years at T.G. Advertising in Roslyn, NY.

Karen leaves behind her beloved husband, Andrew George Chereck, of 40 years; beloved son, Matthew Chereck and his wife Rebecca and her adored grandsons, Collin Thomas and William Andrew of West Orange, NJ; her devoted brother, Peter Consalvo and his wife Meaghan of Washingtonville, NY and many dear aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, September 8, at Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church Street, Goshen NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 90 Euclid Ave., Middletown, NY.
