Joseph Merritt

Joseph D. Merritt, 72, of Goshen, died Friday, September 16, 2016 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. Joseph was born September 15, 1944 in Goshen, NY. He was the son of Henry and Clara (Cuddeback) Merritt. Joe graduated from The Hun School in Princeton, NJ and Syracuse University. He served with distinction in the Viet Nam War and brought home the scars of that experience. He had his own excavating business and was able to use a bulldozer like a pastry chef frosting a cupcake. He was a talented gentleman and will be missed by his cousins and friends throughout the Village of Goshen. He is survived by his brother, Henry Merritt, and nephew, Aiden Merritt, both residing in England. Visitation will be at the Donovan Funeral Home on Thursday, October 13th from 4pm to 5pm with a service at 4:30. Arrangements under the care of the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., Goshen.
