John Widner

John A. Widner, 87, of Middletown, NY formerly of New Jersey, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown, NY. John was born June 8, 1932 in Paterson, NJ, the son of John Widner and Adeline Iola van der Beek Widner. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was retired from Greater A&P Foods Headquarters as Head Buyer. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Joyce Widner at home; children, John Widner of Lodi, NJ, Judy Hearn and husband David of Delmar, MD, Jeffrey Widner and wife Carole of San Diego, CA, James Widner of Sebring, FL and Joseph Widner of Harriman, NY; seven grandchildren: Jordan Hearn and wife Julie, Travis Hearn and wife Ashley, Brooke Gillette and husband Justin, and Jeffrey, Jennifer, and Matthew Widner; six great-grandchildren; beloved nieces Sharon O'Reilly and Dorrie Tarsa and nephews Douglas and Larry Tarsa. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Betty Lou Johnson. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.
