John A. Smith, "Smitty" 89, of Goshen died Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Sapphire Nursing, Goshen, NY. John was born December 19, 1932 in Honesdale, PA, the son of Arthur and Ceclia (Morgan) Smith. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from Reynolds Metals Company, Middletown, NY. John loved fishing, camping and in his later years he loved watching the many birds while sitting on his deck with Betty. He also loved his animals and spent countless hours with them. He is survived by his wife Betty Homan Smith; children, Jacalyn Grimes and husband Alan and their daughter Janelle Fregoso and husband Adam; Ronald Smith and Raymond Smith and his daughters Brenda Smith and Sarah Johnson and husband Kenny; four great grandsons, John, Lucas, Kenny and Jack; sister, Shirley Zwick and husband Jim and family and his Goshen daughter, Kelly Boss.
