John Peterson

John W. Peterson, age 82, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2024.

John was born on December 28, 1941, in Brooklyn, NY. He proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. AF-58 and went on to become an accomplished plumber, owning and operating Peterson and Son's Plumbing and Heating. John was a jack of all trades, known for his skill, dedication, and hard work. John was a third degree knight in the Knights of Columbus. He had a passion for fishing, enjoyed working on his cars, had a deep love for animals, and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in his family.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret (O'Neill) Peterson, his sons Chris Peterson and David Peterson, his daughter Lori Peterson, and his sister Gayle Peterson. He was also a loving stepfather to Douglas Sanders, Kim Sanders, Marty Sanders, and Mitchell Sanders. John was a cherished grandfather.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 4, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY.

A Funeral Service to celebrate John's life will follow at 1:30 PM at the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in John's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
