John "Red" Thomas Lewis, Jr., age 89, of Ocklawaha, FL died Thursday, November 29, 2012 at The Villages Regional Hospital of Lady Lake, FL. John was born May 29, 1923 in Wilkes Barre, PA, the son of the late John Thomas and the late Josephine Dauer Lewis. He was the widower of Filamina Marie Vara Lewis who predeceased him on November 13, 2008. John served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a gunner's mate 3rd class on the Destroyer the USS Willard Keith, from 1944-1945. He is survived by his sons, John T. Lewis III and wife Anna and Gary Lewis; sister-in-law, Millie; 3 grandchildren, Kelly Lewis, Christian Lewis, and John T. Lewis IV; 4 great grandchildren, Madeline, Abigail, Thomas and Emma Lewis. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 4 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY, with the funeral service in the funeral home at 12:00 pm.
