John Cristiano

John B. Cristiano, 88, of Goshen, entered into rest on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Sapphire Nursing Home, Goshen, NY. John was born October 23, 1928 in Castelgrande, Italy, the son of Joseph and Francesca (Ruvo) Cristiano. He served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1950 to1952. He retired from Prudential Insurance in New York, NY as an Insurance Agent & Broker. John was the former Commander at the Knights of Columbus; member of the Catholic War Veterans, Italian American Club and Elks. He was active at St. John the Evangelist RC Church and was the Grand Marshall for the 2015 Memorial Day Parade. John enjoyed spending time with his family and he loved bocce. He is survived by his wife: Margaret Cristiano at home; children, Francesca Bova and husband Lawrence of Hopewell Junction, NY, Josephine Cristiano of St. Petersburg, FL, Jeannette Cristiano of Nanuet, NY, Joseph Cristiano of Los Angeles, CA, Victoria Cristiano-Schwartz and husband Paul of New York, NY and John Cristiano, Jr. of Middletown, NY; 6 grandchildren, Michael John Wunderlich, Justin and Brandon Wunderlich, Dana and Erik Jongebloed and John Joseph Cristiano; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Domenico Cristiano. Visitation will be Sunday, September 17 from 2 to 5 P.M. at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Monday, September 18, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen, NY. Burial will follow in Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
