JoAnn Carey, 61, of Slate Hill, NY, entered into rest on Saturday, June 7, 2014 with her family around her at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, New York, NY. JoAnn was born December 1, 1952 in Goshen, NY, the daughter of Fred and Margaret (Niedzwiecki) Barnes. She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Carey, Sr. at home; 5 children, Margaret Ruth of Slate Hill, NY, Michael Brian and wife Danielle of Thompson Ridge, NY, Joseph Robert and wife Marci of Amsterdam, NY, Brian Michael and wife Keri Lee of Otisville, NY, and Robert Joseph, Jr. and wife Mary of Ridgefield, CT; 6 grandchildren, Miles, Jensen, Paton, Thomas, Robert Joseph III, and Nicholas; brothers, Fred Barnes and wife Tara of Rochester, NY and Mark Barnes and wife Julie of Chesapeake, VA; brother-in-law, Brian O'Dell of Mahwah, NJ and many nieces and nephews. JoAnn was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Margaret Barnes and her sister, Marianne O'Dell. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 11 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. The Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am on Thursday, June 12, 2014 in the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
