Joan E. Nelson Crawford, New York Joan E. Nelson, 87, of Crawford, NY died Friday, February 26, 2010 at Elant at Goshen in Goshen, NY. Joan was born August 16, 1922 in Manhattan, NY, the daughter of the late Edward and the late Emily (Byrne) O'Hara. She was the widow of Chester Nelson. She retired from Goshen Abstract, Goshen, NY as a secretary, was a member of St. Paul's R.C. Church in Bullville, NY and former member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Goshen, NY. She is survived by her son, Dennis Nelson and wife Kim Marie of Poughkeepsie, NY; son-in-law, Thomas L. Paffenroth of Bullville, NY; 4 grandchildren, Kevin Paffenroth and companion Amy, Tim Paffenroth and wife Suzanne, Jillian Nelson and Kathryn Nelson; 3 great grandchildren, Nikole, Kaylee and Thomas. She was predeceased by her daughter, Linda E. Paffenroth. No visitation. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
