Joan Elizabeth Degeorge

Joan Elizabeth DeGeorge, 86, of Goshen, NY, passed away Friday, June 4th, 2021, at Garnet Health Medical Center of Middletown, NY. Joan was born July 7th, 1935 in Goshen, NY. She is the daughter to the late Carl Johnson Sr., and Beatrice (Decker) Johnson. She is predeceased by her Husband Frank John DeGeorge of Goshen, NY; Son Frank W. DeGeorge of Middletown, NY; Sister Nancy Lee of Minisink, NY. Joan graduated from Goshen High School in 1953. She then went on to graduate from Lenox Hill Hospital in 1956. Following graduation she stayed at Lenox Hill Hospital as an Operating Room Nurse. Joan and Frank were married June 9th, 1957. She proudly raised her 3 sons; Frank William, Michael John, and Thomas. She was a dedicated stay at home mom who attended all sports games, high school and college graduations. Joan was known as Nana to her grand and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Michael DeGeorge, Natick, MA, Thomas DeGeorge, North Haven, CT; Brother Carl Johnson Jr. and Wife Elfrieda Johnson of Goshen, NY; Sisters, Gloria Lupinski and Late Husband Joseph Lupinski of Goshen,NY; Karen Underwood and Late Husband Thomas Underwood, PA; Brother-inLaw Joseph and Wife Cheryl DeGeorge, NY; Sister-In-Law Amelia and Husband Joseph Racioppo, FL; Daughter-In-Laws Sally DeGeorge, MA and Lori DeGeorge, NY; Grandchildren Christina and Husband Joshua Latorre, Frank DeGeorge and Fiance Sarah Ganzer, Jordan DeGeorge, Hayden DeGeorge, and Shayla DeGeorge; Great-Grandchildren Eden and Elias Latorre; and many nieces and nephews. It is with deepest gratitude that we send our appreciation to Dr. Sandeep Singh and his nurse Tracy for all the medical care provided to Joan and Frank throughout the years. Visitation will be Monday, June 7th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 8th at 12:00PM at The First Presbyterian Church, 33 Park Place, Goshen, NY. Burial will follow in the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made in Joan's name to the ALS Gift Fund, Eleanor and Lou Gehrig MDA/ALS Research Center, 710 West 168th Street, 9th Floor, New York, NY 10032.
