Jeanne Zowaski

Jeanne A Zowaski Jeanne Zielinski Zowaski, formally a longtime resident of Goshen, NY, died on July 13, 2009 at Carolina's Medical Center, Pineville, NC. She was 77. Jeanne was married to the late Joseph G Zowaski, a combat veteran of the Korean War and the excavator owner/operator of Pellets Island Garage. Born in Goshen, Jeanne is the daughter of the late Estella Malinowski Zielinski and Joseph John Zielinski. Jeanne was a graduate of St. John's High School, Goshen, NY. In 1952, she earned a degree from Kingston School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Horton Hospital in 1953. She also worked at the Goshen Hospital as a Maternity Ward Charge Nurse from 1953 to 1957. Jeanne was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor V Zielinski Domm, of Feasterville, PA, and a son, Robert Zowaski of Goshen, NY. She is survived by one sister, Evelyn Zielinski Shinn and husband Jay Shinn of Charlotte, NC and seven children: Joseph Zowaski of New Hampton, NY; Richard Zowaski of Rustburg, VA; Mary Ann Zowaski Lempka and companion Thomas Mance of Slate Hill, NY; Thomas Zowaski and companion Rosa Creanza of Goshen, NY; Paul Zowaski and wife Carolyn of Charlotte, NC; Laurie Zowaski Nuzzolese and husband Pete of Monroe, NC; Regina Zowaski Cole and husband Michael of Oak Ridge, NJ. She has 11 grandchildren, Cassie Zowaski Quattrini and husband Jared Quattrini; Sgt. Joseph Nuzzolese and wife Carey Nuzzolese; Richard Zowaski; Sabrina Zowaski; Steven Cole; Specialist John Nuzzolese and wife Allison Nuzzolese; Eric Mance; Jena Zowaski; Alison Cole; Matthew Cole; Owen Zowaski. She has 3 great grandchildren, Riley Quattrini, Mikala Nuzzolese and Aiden Nuzzolese. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. Jeanne is remembered for her meticulous ability to tell stories of her life in exact detail. She is remembered for her love for all, her courage, her faith in God and the incredible strength after she lost her husband at age 41. She raised eight children, while having to endure the onset of her paralysis at age 46. She always managed to meet the needs of her children. She has provided them with wonderful childhood memories and a warm and loving home. Funeral services will be handled by the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church St., Goshen. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00PM on Friday July 17, 2009. Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist, Goshen NY at 10:00AM on Saturday, July 18, 2009. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Goshen.
