James Mccrohan

January 24, 1929 — March 22, 2015

James Patrick McCrohan, a Police Captain with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for 41 years, entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at his home in Middletown, NY at the age of 86, surrounded by family. Born in Jersey City, Jim resided many years in Rahway, NJ, where he was an active member of The Knights of Columbus and a Communicant of St Mary's Catholic Church. Jim was the beloved husband of Rita Ventura McCrohan; devoted father to his three children, Patricia Ann Zilinski, Margaret Teichman, and James Patrick McCrohan, Jr., and his three stepchildren, John Ventura, Matthew Ventura, and Vincent Ventura. He was a cherished grandfather to many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a loving brother to Michael "Buddy" McCrohan. He was predeceased by his first wife, Dolores Halpin McCrohan; a son, James Frances McCrohan; his parents, Mary Ann and Patrick; his brothers Sonny and Edward, and daughter-in-law Rosemary McCrohan. Friends and family can pay their respects on Friday, March 27 at Donovan's Funeral Home, 82 S. Church Street in Goshen, NY, between the hours of 1-3pm. A mass will be held immediately following at 3pm at St. John's Evangelist Church in Goshen, NY. Cards of Condolence may be sent to: James P. McCrohan, Jr. 489 Bara Street Brick, NJ 08723
