James Felczak, 80, of Goshen entered into rest on Friday, August 13, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY. Jim was born June 27, 1941 in Goshen, NY, the son of Joseph A. Felczak and Anne M. (Delikat) Felczak. Jim served in the US Air Force from 1960 to 1964. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist RC Church, Goshen, NY, Past Chief for the Goshen Fire Dept. Cataract Engine and Hose Co., 62 year member, past Commander Catholic War Veterans, Goshen, NY, Disabled American Veterans Chapter #212 Goshen, NY, B.P.O.E Elks #1097 Middletown, NY, Orange County Fire Chiefs Association, Fire Commissioner for Goshen Fire District. He served in the Town of Goshen Police Commission, establishing the first Town of Goshen Police Dept. March 1990. He retired as a Sales Manager from Westinghouse Electrical Supply, Co., Poughkeepsie, NY. Jim enjoyed working at Donovan Funeral Home, finding a good friend in owner Mark Johnston. They would meet for breakfast with good friends at Elise's and discuss daily events. He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Patricia (Bunny) Felczak; daughters, Debra Felczak-Spindler and husband Steve, Dawn Stewart and husband Jeff, Donna Catania and husband Chris, Dorothy Felczak and companion David Whelan; the joys of his life his grandchildren, Amanda Stewart, Shannon Spindler, Cassidy Brock, Brandon James Stewart and Alison Catania; survived by , brothers, Joseph J. Felczak (Gloria), and John S. Felczak (Ann); sister, Mary A. Wallen (Gil); sister in law, Lynn Dowson; brother in law, Ralph Bauer; 12 nieces and nephews and many cousins. Due to the ongoing Covid healthcare crisis Jim's family is requesting that everyone please wear a mask while attending the services. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 17 from 4 to 7 PM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Firematic Service with the Goshen Fire Department will begin at 7PM. A Mass of Christian burial to Celebrate his life will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at St. John The Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen, NY. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cataract Engine and Hose Co.
