Helen Millar

Helen Millar, 88, of Goshen, entered into rest on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Park Manor of Middletown, NY. Helen was born March 28, 1931 in Middletown, NY, the daughter of the late Peter and the late Angeliki (Kolovos) Contos. Helen was a 1949 graduate of Middletown High School. She was employed as a secretary for Clemson Brothers in Middletown, NY and subsequent to that was a Library Aide in the Goshen Middle School for many years. Helen was also an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Arden Hill Hospital and served as their secretary for many years. She very much enjoyed that. She was a long time resident of Goshen and had many friends in the community. Helen was a member of the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church. She was also an avid golfer and enjoyed many years playing the game with her husband and their friends. She was an avid lover of music and had a passion for dancing. Helen was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Robert (Rocky) Millar and her brother, James Contos. She is survived by her children, Cynthia Forsythe of Goshen, NY, Susan Millar of New York City, Robert Millar and his wife Barbara of Marietta, GA, and Georgine Hendricks and her husband Christopher of Goshen, NY. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Morgan and Kyle Millar, and Brooke, Tyler and Blake Hendricks and 3 step grandchildren whom she treated as her own, Kelly, Kristy and Amy. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 9 from 4 to 7 PM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, 2250 Goshen Turnpike, Middletown, NY. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
