Helen Jean Babcock

Helen "Jean" Babcock, Beloved Mother and Grandmother, age 90, entered into rest peacefully on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at home in Humble, TX. She was a long-time resident of Goshen, NY.

Jean was born on August 24th, 1932, in Middletown, NY to the late Fred and Anna Warren.

Jean was a waitress for many years who went on to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. Furthermore, she owned several successful racehorses.

A devoted mother, Jean was always putting her children and grandchildren before herself. She cared deeply about her patients and her community, often offering her home to friends and family in need of a place to stay. She was known for being a kind, compassionate, generous, and selfless person. She was often quiet, but had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved historical romance novels, watching game shows, and movies.

She is survived by her 5 children: Gary Babcock of TX, Richard & his wife Tracie Babcock of FL, Valeria & her husband Walter Schilling of NY, Nettie & her husband Gary Moore of TX, and Thomas & his wife Jackie Babcock of NY. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews. Additionally, she is survived by her 3 sisters, Dolores Vavricka, Maxine Furman, and Barbara Paffenroth.

She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Edward Babcock, two of her children: Brian Babcock, Deborah Sumbler, and her stepdaughter, Diane Eden. Two of her siblings predeceased her: Fred and Burleigh Warren.

Visitation will be Friday, February 10 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY with the Funeral Service to Celebrate her life will be held 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Wallkill Cemetery, Middletown.
