Harold White

Harold Robert (Bob) White, Jr., of Goodyear Arizona, formerly of Goshen and a retired Captain from the Orange County Sheriff's Department passed away on February 28, 2016, in Phoenix AZ, following a short illness, he was 65 years old. Bob was born on April 17, 1950 to the late Harold R White, Sr. and the late Roberta Lewis White, in Goshen. A graduate of Goshen High School and of Orange County Community College, Bob was proud to have served with the Orange County Sheriff's office from 1970 through 1998, working his way through the ranks until his retirement as Captain. During his career in the Orange County Sheriff's Office two of Bob's greatest accomplishments were the inception of the Sheriff's Entry Team and the Sheriff's Department Color Guard. Bob first served as Vice President of the NYS Deputies Association and later served as its' President. During his tenure with the Assocation Bob's proudest moment was his work securing a 2 year retirement for law enforcement Deputy Sheriff's throughout NY State. In 1998 Bob moved to the Phoenix AZ area and re-started his career in antiques, building up a huge clientele at his very own antique store, A Lasting Impressions Antiques in Glendale Arizona. Bob is survived by, his daughters Jacqueline White LaCosta (CJ) of Goshen, Lori White Bonito (Greg) of Goshen, his grandchildren, Joey, Jason & Carolina LaCosta, Alex and Melanie Bonito, and his companion and friend Susan Bahren of Chester, his sister Carolyn Marsh of Geneva NY as well as his best friends Rick Baxter of Middletown and Sue & Mel James of Goodyear AZ. Bob is further survived by his Aunts Dolly (White) Suydam, Virginia (Lewis) Berrian, Patricia (Lewis) Baldwin, Marty (Lewis) Howell and his nephews Michael and Daniel Marsh. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 17 from 2-4pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY, with the Service at 4 pm with the Reverend David Kingsley officating.
