Gloria Charles

Gloria V. Charles, 88, of Goshen, entered into rest on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Valley View Center in Goshen, NY. Gloria was born December 13, 1930 in Goshen, NY, the daughter of Charles Manuel, Sr. and Estella (Cudjo) Manuel. She worked as a Cottage Parent at Warwick State Training School for 25 years and after retiring from there, Gloria worked as a Housekeeper at Arden Hill Hospital retiring from there after 25 years of dedicated service. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and serving her church. She was a member of St. John African Union Methodist Protestant Church (AUMP) and faithfully served as the Pastor Steward, Building Fund President and Trustee for over 24 years under Pastor Carolyn Ross. Gloria is survived by her sons, Michael Kenneth Charles and wife, Tessa of Middletown; and Rudolph Craig Charles of Las Vegas, NV; 6 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Rudolph K. Charles, her siblings Chester (Chet), Madeline, Bucky, Ernestine, Helen, her daughter-in-law, Valencia Charles and adopted children, Linda and Bill. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at St. John AUMP Church, 207 West Main Street, Goshen, with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 am with Pastor Ross officiating.
