Gladys Hamilton

Gladys Sumter Hamilton, 101, of Goshen, NY, died Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at her home in Goshen. Gladys was born May 25, 1910 in Richmond, VA, the daughter of Artemus and Mattie Henderson. She was a volunteer at Valley View for Nursing Care; member and the organist for St. John's AUMP Church in Goshen, worked at the Elections Polls in Goshen, NY, took care of 16 foster children and she was known as Gram to many. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary Sumter; 6 grandchildren, Harold Sumter and wife Ladonn, Todd Sumter and wife Angela, Maricia Terrell, Damon Sumter, Jenester Collins; Odell Cassermere; many nieces, nephews and loving friends. Visitation will be Thursday, November 17 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY, with the Funeral Service at 11:00.
