Frank Mcbride

Frank H. McBride, Jr., of Goshen, died peacefully on September 11, 2014, with his wife and 4 daughters at his side. Frank was born March 21, 1932 in Goshen, NY, the son of Frank H. McBride, Sr. and Marie Strong McBride. He was the co-owner of H.L.&F. McBride, McBride Transportation and McBride-Mack. He was a lifetime resident of Goshen, NY where he attended Garr Institute (St. John's). He graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelors Degree in business. Frank was a Village of Goshen Trustee from 1959-1969. He was a member of the Dikeman Fire Company from 1950-1970 and the Cataract Fire Company from 1971-present. He was a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Goshen, serving as a lector and usher for many years. He was also a lifetime member of the BPOE #1097 of Middletown, NY. Frank enjoyed and participated in many sports. He served as past president of the Orange County Golf Club and was club champion, where he also set the amateur course record. In addition, he was the past president of the TGO Golf club in Titusville, Florida. Frank loved Goshen and served as an active member of the community. He is survived by his wife: Dorathea M. McBride of Goshen; 4 daughters, Karen M. Scott of Virginia Beach, VA, Barbara J. Bollinger of Clifton, NJ, Marilynn Schommer and husband Gary of Mt. Cobb, PA and Lori A. McBride of Goshen, NY; 13 grandchildren, Sarah M. Scott, Kristin L. Scott, Matthew R. Scott and wife Jenna; Bradley G. Bollinger and wife Nina, Mark T. Bollinger, Grant Bollinger, Conor F. Bollinger; Gregory R. Schommer, Kurt F. Schommer, Erik P. Schommer Parker M. Dinsmore, Griffin R. Dinsmore, and Brennan A. Dinsmore; great grandchildren, Leiya K. Boone, Ryan M. Scott and Luca W. Bolinger. He was predeceased by his brothers, John S. and Edward W. McBride. Visitation will be Sunday, September 14 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM & 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Monday, September 15, 2014 at St. John The Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen,, NY. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Goshen, NY. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Ave #310, White Plains, NY 10605.
