Eneida Rivera

Eneida S. Ortiz Rivera, 91, of Town of Greenville, Middletown, NY died with her family by her side on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY due to complications from Alzheimer's disease. Eneida was born March 8, 1925 in Cayey, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Jose and Andrea (Leon) Ortiz. Eneida was married at the age of 19 and became a young widow with two children. Later she met and married Angel Luis Rivera they had 6 children. They raised their family in Goshen, NY. She was a homemaker for many years and when her children were grown she went to work at JC Penney. Eneida had a wonderful sense of humor, she believed in fairness and sharing. She loved dancing and enjoyed listening to Julio Iglesias "Moon Light Lady." She was a warm and welcoming person, her home was always open to anyone who came. She lived by the saying, "The More the Merrier." She will be missed so very much. Eneida is survived by her children, Milton Walker and wife Loretta of Middletown, Nelsie Walker of Bradenton, FL, Jose Rivera of Puerto Rico, Victor Rivera of Manhattan, NY, Andrea Roberto and husband Christian of Town of Greenville, Middletown, NY, daughter, Elba, Lyda O'Shea and husband Daniel of Bloomingburg, and Miriam Connolly and husband Daniel of Apopka, Fl; sisters, Nelsie Aybar and Elba Berger; 7 grandchildren, Carrie Rodgers and husband Fernando, Lauren McConnell and fiancée, Jason, Alexis Rivera Roberto, Randy Connolly, Matthew O'Shea, Christina Roberto and Collette Connolly; 5 great grandchildren, Sean Greco and wife Veronica, Amir Ford, Jayden, Jordon and Jason Matlock; 2 great-great grandchildren, Jayce and Freya Greco. She was predeceased by her two husbands, her sister, Lyda Pacheco and her brothers, Captain Jose Ortiz and George Ortiz. Visitation will be Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, with the Funeral Service at 3:00 pm in the Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will be on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave., Goshen, NY.
