Emilia Romero

Emilia Romero, 81, of Goshen, was taken by the angels surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Elant at Goshen. Emilia was the daughter of the late Gabriel Avelino Romero and the late Candelaria (Barrero) Romero. She was born March 2, 1935 in Colombia and came to the United States in her early 20's. Emilia loved her family more than anything. She was always kind and thankful to every person that she met. She adored her nieces and nephews and enjoyed family events. The angels who crossed her path brought her to everlasting life. May Emilia embrace her beautiful soul and finally find her peace in the afterlife. She is survived by her brothers, Gabriel Romero, Avelino Romero and his wife Doris, and Rafael Romero and wife Maria; sisters, Elsa Carretero and husband Pepe, Hilda Melchiori and Cecilia Romero; several nieces and nephews (all who loved her dearly). She was predeceased by her mother and father; sisters, Alicia Romero and Fanny Velasquez and brother, Ernesto Romero. Visitation will be Thursday, February 9 from 5 to 8 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Friday, February 10, 2017 in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Slate Hill Cemetery, Goshen.
