EDWARD S. KNOB February 16, 1925 - March 14, 2017 Goshen, NY Edward S. Knob, 92 of Goshen, died peacefully Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at home. Ed was born February 16, 1925 in Woodside, NY, the son of George Knob and Miriam Irene (Holland) Knob. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II where he served as a radio operator on a C-47 transport plane. Ed was a long time member of the Goshen Lions Club and The Cataract Engine and Hose Company where he served as President. He retired as an Account Manager from HC Boehner Food Wholesaler, Great Neck, NY. Ed's true passion in life was golf. He was a member of the Orange County Golf Club for over 65 years serving as President. He played golf on countless courses but always said Pebble Beach was his favorite. Ed is survived by his wife, Lydia "Lyd" Knob at home; daughters, Janice L. Knob and husband, Gary Sopotnick of New Milford, CT and Peggy Fratto of Middletown, NY; son, Stephen Knob and wife, Charon of Chester, NY; grandchildren: Michael V. Fratto and wife, Danielle, Sarah Santana and husband, Steven, Brendan Knob and Gregory Knob; great grandchildren, Nicholas and Emma Fratto. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, March 19 at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 20 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave., Goshen. Burial will follow in the Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cataract Engine and Hose Company, Goshen, NY 10924.
