Edward Becker

Edward J. Becker, 82, of Goshen died Monday, December 3, 2007 at Valley View Center for Nursing Care & Rehabilitation in Goshen. Edward was born April 29, 1925 in Newburgh, NY the son of Martin Becker (Piekarz) and Mary Trzuskot. Edward served in the Navy on the USS Piedmont during World War II, was a member of the VFW in Washingtonville and was retired from Local #417, Newburgh, NY as an Iron Worker. He is survived by his wife: Virginia E. Becker at home; two sons, John M. Becker of Woodbourne, NY and Steven E. Becker of Montgomery, NY; daughter, Mary M. Nunez of Astoria, NY; two sisters, Anna Lawless of Newburgh, NY and Katherine Atkins of Middletown, NY; 3 grandsons Wesley S. Becker, Jason B. Becker and John E. Becker. Edward was predeceased by his 5 brothers, Charlie, Al, Frank, John and Stephen Becker and sister Agnes Visitation will be Friday, December 7, 2007 from 7-9 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church St., Goshen. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 10:45 am at St. Patricks Church in Newburgh, NY. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Newburgh, NY.
