Obituary

It is with the deepest regret and most profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Dana L. Mahoney on August 20, 2026. Dana was born on December 12, 1973, and spent her childhood in Vernon, NJ. She excelled academically and went on to earn a law degree from Seton Hall University. Dana was a practicing attorney for twenty-eight years, eighteen of which were with the Goshen office of Mental Hygiene Legal Service, where she was able to successfully combine her impressive legal skills and her caring spirit.

Dana married Joseph F. Mahoney on April 22, 2006, and the couple settled in Goshen that same year. Dana and Joseph were blessed with the birth of Briana in 2008, the birth of Skylar in 2010 and the birth of Gavin in 2014. She was devoted to her family and the love she possessed was evident in everything she did. Even during her battle with cancer, Dana was able to provide support to her family and friends, bring joy to those around her and maintain an unquenchable spirit of hope.

Those that knew Dana will remember her smile, laughter and the deep love she carried in her heart. She was an inspiration in her actions, her beliefs and the manner in which she lived her life. We were truly blessed to have had the chance to know and love her.

Dana was preceded in death by her brother Donald (DJ) DeDominicis. She is survived by her husband Joseph Mahoney, her daughter Briana Mahoney, her daughter Skylar Mahoney and her son Gavin Mahoney, her parents Alfred and Colleen DeDominicis, her brothers Alfred DeDominicis (Shannon DeDominicis) and Jason DeDominicis, as well as beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews - all of whom she held in her heart and cared for deeply.

Visitation will be held August 25, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY.

The funeral mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church in Goshen, NY, on August 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
