Claire Kuhne

Claire M. Kuhne, 62, of Middletown entered into rest after a long illness on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Westchester County Medical Center, Valhalla, NY. Claire was born February 4, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of Henry Kuhne and Martha Giacone Kuhne. Family Statement: Our Mother was a kind, loving woman. She was a mother and mentor to all those who came into her life. Friends were not just friends; they became family. She always saw the good in people and always left a lasting impression in their lives. She spent her earlier years working for the Bank of New York on Wall Street. When she became a mother, she did it full-time. After we were grown, she went back to work in retail. She made everyones life better just by knowing her. We were lucky to have such a wonderful woman as our mother. She will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by her son, David Van Vliet of Middletown; 2 daughters, Andrea Van Vliet of Middletown and Martha Van Vliet of Middletown and many family and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, William Kuhne. Visitation will be Saturday, January 26 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM & 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Sunday, January 27 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM & 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, January 28, 2008 at 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen. Burial will follow in Weehawken Cemetery, Union City.
