Charles Ellert

Charles H. Ellert, Sr., 86, of Glen Spey died Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at home. Charles was born November 3, 1925 in Goshen, NY, the son of the late Anthony and Hilda (Stephens) Ellert. He was the widower of Alberta Barnes Ellert. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Goshen Post #377 American Legion. He is survived by his children, Charles Ellert of Virginia, Nancy Arneson of Vestal, NY, Steven Ellert of Glen Spey, Joseph Ellert of Glen Spey, Mary Lybolt of Glen Spey, Linda Shafer of Glen Spey, Ann Kimiecik of Swan Lake, NY, Anthony Ellert of Glen Spey, and Patty Ellert of Blooming Grove, PA; 2 sisters, Beatrice Jessup and Patricia O'Malley both of Goshen; 29 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Alberta; son, John Ellert and brother, Robert Ellert. A Memorial graveside service will be held Friday, August 31 at 11:00 am at St. John's Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
