Charita Riso

Charita J.Riso, of Goshen, NY entered into rest on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Orange Regional Medical Center-Arden Hill Campus in Goshen with her devoted husband and children by her side. She was 68 years old. Charita was born October 13, 1939 in the Bronx, the daughter of the late Rudolph and Helen (Duffy) Fischer. She attended St. Helenas High School and New York University. She retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield where she was a medical claims examiner. She was the wife of Robert Riso. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Riso who faithfully tended to her every need throughout her illness; her daughter Alison and her fianc Anthony Gallichio of Wilmington, NC, daughter, Kristine and her husband Joseph Betro of Goshen, NY; and son Robert Riso and his wife Kim (Fimbel) of Winnabow, NC; brother, Victor Fischer and his wife Patricia of Fayetteville, NC. Her greatest joy in life, were her precious grandchildren, Joseph, Frankie and Jordan Betro of Goshen, NY and Connor, Kelsey and Griffin Riso of Winnabow, NC. A family statement reads: As the matriarch of our family, she made us proud in every way possible. She was loving, kind, caring and thoughtful but most of all she was strong. She remained a fighter until she was called home. We love you and will miss you always. Visitation will be Thursday, February 7, from 7-9 pm and Friday, February 8, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church St., Goshen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Murray Ave., Goshen. Burial will follow in Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Goshen.
